"Tatseena has the softness and female power of
Elizabeth Taylor, and she even looks like her."
~ Bert Balladine
Student of MEDance
MEDance first intrigued me in the early 70s watching John Compton
perform at the Renaissance Faire with Troupe Bal Anat, Jamilla Salimpour's
troupe. I signed up for class in 1973 with Natica Angilly. I fell
in love with the music and hypnotic movements at that very first
class and have never looked back. In recent years, I have studied
with Najia El Mouzayen and I classify my style as Arabic, teaching
mostly Raks Sharki style movements.
In order to broaden my dance horizons I have studied jazz, ballet,
folk dance, and yoga. I participate in workshops by other notable
artists whenever possible, MEDance artists such as: Bert Balladine,
Najia, Natica, Rhea, Fatima & Jamilla al Wahid, Aneena and many
more. Additionally, I have danced and taught private workshops in
Egypt, Greece, Europe, and some of the Orient. |
